SkyBus began operations in New Zealand when it took over the airport express bus service, Airbus Express, from previous operator, Johnstons Coachlines, in 2015. In 2018, SkyBus added direct services from Auckland Airport to the North Shore stopping at Akoranga, Smales Farm and Westfield Albany. On Thursday 23 September 2021, the SkyBus Airport - Auckland City services were suspended indefinitely, and in August 2022, the remaining airside vehicles were transferred to fellow Kinetic Group company, Go Bus Transport.
SkyBus operated the following services in New Zealand:
Auckland City Express
The Auckland City Express operated between Auckland Airport and the SkyBus Lounge in the Auckland CBD, running via the Southwestern Motorway, Mount Eden Road, and Queen Street. The service picked up passengers heading to the airport and droped off passengers leaving the airport at designated stops along the route.
North Harbour Express
These services operated between Auckland Airport and Albany (referred to by SkyBus as Albany Westfield because of the nearby Westfield Albany shopping mall). Services operated via the Northern Busway rapid transit link on the North Shore section of the route, with Smales Farm and Akoranga stations were the only busway stops.
