Col and Betsy Mahoney operated a corner convenience store for a number years at 94 Adams Street, Narrandera.
The couple diversified into the coach industry by purchasing the Leeton - Lockhart boarders school contract from LJ & JA Gordon, Lockhart with MO 5070 Austral Tourmaster in February 2005. As this contract only worked two days per week, other charter and tour work could be obtained to fill up the week. A second coach was purchased from Nuline Charter Pty Ltd, Moorabbin, VIC in November 2006.
The Narrandera - Paynters Siding school contract was purchased from GD O'Brien, Narrandera with 2323 MO Hino BD190 on 1 August 2009.
This was followed up with the purchase of the three school contracts and five buses from R & M Manning t/a Grong Grong Bus Service, Narrandera in 1 May 2011. This gave the Mahoney's the ability to be a full service bus business with Government and private school contracts, coach tours and charter, and hire drive mini buses. By this stage the shop was closed and converted to a shopfront for their tour and charter business, plus an office for their business.
The Mahoney's son Brett and daughter-in-law Roz became involved in the business from the start of 2012.
Line of Route N2897 was altered to operate from Matong Public School to Narrandera following the closure of Grong Grong Public School in 2012.
The Leeton - West Wyalong - Weethalle boarders coach service was won on tender from Term 1 2013.
Brett Mahoney gained accreditation 40368 by 10/15, however this number was no longer on issue 2/16. Business incorporated as Mahoneys Coaches Pty Ltd, Acc No. 41323 14/1/16.
Gained a third contract linking St Francis, Leeton and Yanco Agricultural H.S. and the Newell Hwy/Burley Griffin Way junction (Ardlethan) by Term 1 2017.
