Howarth's Bus Service was owned by Russell and Marlene Wong-the son-in-law and daughter of original proprietor-Humphrey Howarth. Howarths have been in Crookwell (or Laggan to be precise) since the 1950s. The company was registered 23/1/70. The Wongs also operated a potato farm -of which there are many in and around Crookwell and Laggan.

-1)-Line of route N1471 Crookwell - Fish River. Sold to NR & CM Skelly,Crookwell 2/94.
-2)-Line of route N1474 Crookwell - Bigga.Sold to Kipley Skelly, Crookwell 1/06.
-3)-Line of route N1487 Crookwell - Myanga Creek(but operating to Carrabungla). Sold to Pitt's Bus Service,Taralga early 1994.
-4)-Line of route N1488 Crookwell - Wheo - Bevandale. Sold to Pitt's Bus Service,Taralga 2004.
-5)-Line of route N2774 Laggan Public School - Crookwell. A new contract started in 9/99.Sold to Kipley Skelly,Crookwell without a bus 7/13. MO 4877 Toyota Coaster was purchased from a Brisbane dealer 9/99 to commence the contract. This contract was kept so Marlene Wong could drive it.
-6)-There was a sixth contract being Crookwell - Lost River - Binda. Showed desto "Binda". This ceased many years ago. Under NR & CM Skelly's ownership, a new contract to Lost River commencing Term 1 2012 would appear to be a new incarnation of this original contract.
The maximum number of contracts operated at the one time was 5. A fairly busy charter opeation was maintained using MO 0463 Volvo B10M/Custom Coaches.
