Australia Wide Coaches was established by Richard Dawes and Phil Langley at Dubbo, bringing together over 40 years of experience in the national coach travel industry. Langley later started his own company Langley's Coaches at Dubbo, while Australia Wide relocated to Sydney under Dawes' guidance.
From 2005, Australia Wide and Crowthers Coaches undertook day tours for Australian Pacific Touring, including having some coaches painted in APT livery. This ceased after APT entered a license agreement with AAT Kings in July 2012 to provide all APT day touring and short breaks in Melbourne, Sydney and the Northern Territory with their own vehicles.
On 27 June 2013, it was announced Australia Wide had secured the sub-license to operate Grayline's Sydney Day Tour Division. From Monday 1 July 2013, Australia Wide took over the work from head-license holder Driver Buslines in Melbourne, who has returned all Sydney-based coaches to Melbourne to focus on developing their Victorian coach operation following the sale of their metropolitan route service to the CDC Group as of 1 July 2013. Australia Wide (115) made its debut in an updated Grayline livery on the company's first day of Grayline operation.
Australia Wide Coaches Pty Ltd took over the coach operations of KL & DJ Selwood t/a Selwood's Coaches, Orange on November 20 2009 with 4 coaches. The services taken over were the Sydney - Orange passenger service and Central-West Countrylink Countrylink services requiring 2 coaches.
