Notes: After the Mercedes Benz O405NH order had been completed, there was a need for a new chassis, there were Mercedes Benz O305 mkII buses to replace and more accessible vehicles needed throughout the system. The first of the batch, 1406 to 1435 were delivered to Newcastle in 2003, these were delivered with a slightly different livery to the Mercedes Benz's instead of a straight upsweep, it featured a curved one and a darker shade of blue was used as well as a thicker red line.

When the first Sydney B12BLE was delivered to Willoughby, bus 1500 the livery reverted back to that on the Mercedes Benz O405NHs. However with the second order (that was split with Volgren) starting at 1561, the red line was deleted, but there was a mishmash of upsweeps, some having a straight upsweep, others having a curved upsweep. It would appear there was some confusion as to what was required since Volgren 1611 appeared in a unique variation of the STA livery, the same tone blue was used as other Sydney vehicles and the red line was the same thickness as other Sydney vehicles, except there was a Newcastle style curved upsweep. This was a one off, since the other 49 buses built by Volgren came in what became the new STA livery which was a blue rear and blue skirt, no upsweep at all. Buses from 4800 onwards featured this livery.

Western Sydney Buses
In mid 2004 buses 1535 to 1551 were diverted to replace 17 Mercedes Benz O405NH's (the last batch of that order) that had been operating on the Liverpool to Parramatta Tway from Bonnyrigg depot since opening in 2003, these vehicles carried the Tway livery, from 2010 to 2013 an extra 7 buses were added to this allocation 1583 and 1584 as well as Volgren bodied buses 1615, 1618, 1619, 1622 and 1638. With the tendering of Region 3 in 2013, Western Sydney Buses was wound up and the buses that had been based at the Westbus depot in Bonnyrigg transferred to Transit Systems at their new depot in Smithfield on 13 October 2013.

Newcastle Region franchised
On the 1st July 2017, operation of the contract area in Newcastle was transferred to Keolis Downer Hunter along with 45 buses of this type

Region 6 Franchised
On 1st July 2018, the services in the Sydney Metropolitan Bus Service Contract for Region 6, services operated out of Burwood, Leichhardt, Kingsgrove and Tempe depots were transferred to Transit Systems West Pty Ltd, at the time, this company also operated in Region 3 as well. With this, 25 of these buses operating from Tempe depot were transferred to this operator.
