Notes: In August 1994, the State Transit Authority issued a tender calling for the supply of 125 single deck rigid buses, powered by either diesel or alternate fuels, with delivery to be completed by the end of 1999.

Austral Pacific Group were orignally contracted to build 125 Volvo B10BLE's for the the State Transit Authority, however, the parent company, Clifford Corporation collapsed in late 1998 having completed 65 of 125 vehicles of the order.
With the collapse of AP, Volvo and Jakab Industries of Tamworth, formed a partnership company, Phoenix Bus. The STA had previously had Jakab as a bus refurbishment contractor, their primary product was building bodies for fire trucks and fitting out ambulances. These two companies created a partnership in the form of Phoenix Bus, primarily to complete the B10BLE order, taking over the former AP facility in Tamworth. There were hopes of securing further contracts after this, however there were none forthcoming and Phoenix was wound up. Jakab itself went into administration in 2002.

They were delivered new to Brookvale, Burwood and Mona Vale depots, also the first Volvo buses ordered by the STA. In mid 2013, 12 buses were transferred to Newcastle, they were then transferred to operator Keolis Downer in mid 2017.
Region 6 Franchised
On 1st July 2018, the services in the Sydney Metropolitan Bus Service Contract for Region 6, services operated out of Burwood, Leichhardt, Kingsgrove and Tempe depots were transferred to Transit Systems West Pty Ltd, at the time, this company also operated in Region 3 as well. With this, 26 of the Volvo B10BLE buses operating from Burwood depot were transferred to this operator.
Transfers to Waverley
In early 2021 it was decided that Waverley depot would have its compressed natural gas facilities shut down, diesel buses were to be transferred in. Waverley depot later became the first and only STA depot to operate electric buses – this happened in the months leading into the franchising of region 9.
To replace the CNG powered Mercedes Benz O500 buses, Waverley were to receive mainly Volvo B12BLE buses, the depot would become a predominately Volvo depot. With changes on the northern beaches, there was a surplus of Volvo B10BLE buses there. In January of 2021, 30 of these were sent to the eastern region – of these 30, 10 would be placed in service at Waverley, the remaining 20 would be stored at Port Botany depot and then be joined by the non-wheelchair accessible Scania L113 buses which were withdrawn in January 2022.
Of these 10, 5 were transferred to Transdev John Holland in April 2022.
Region 8 Franchised
On the 1st November 2021, region 8 which included the depots at Brookvale, Mona Vale and North Sydney depots were franchised out to Keolis Downer, 18 vehicles were transferred to this operator.
