Reesby Buses was started in Turangi by David Reesby in 1974. The operation then ceased at the end of the Turangi Power Scheme. It resumed in Rotorua as a tour and charter operator in 1980. On 1st July 2004 it began operating scheduled CityRide services in Rotorua after winning the contract from Ritchies Transport. In August 2015, it was bought by Souter Investments’ New Zealand transport group, InMotion Group and was sold again to Ritchies Transport in February 2019.
