The company moved to Bucklands Beach a year later. In 1962, Eastern Buses took over Howick Buses and merged the companies to form Howick & Eastern Buses with a combined fleet of 21 buses.
The company remained family-owned until 2008, when the business and its fleet of 130 buses, was sold to Souter Holdings. In 2019, the company was sold again to Transdev with a fleet of 145 buses. The business continues to be run as an independent company.
