The John A. Gilbert Group took over Shorelink and its charter / tour subsidiary Koala Tours from Jim Knox on 1 October 1992 with approximately 60 vehicles. Refer to the Shorelink / Hornsby Bus Group fleetlist for history of the company before Gilbert's ownership.

The route services of Kuring-gai Bus Co. (Parker Family), Gordon were taken over on 20 December 1996 with the seven ex UTA Mercedes-Benz O305s Shorelink had loaned to the Parkers. The following services were included in the take over:
556 Lindfield / Killara - East Killara
557 Chatswood - East Lindfield - Lindfield
558 Chatswood - East Lindfield - Lindfield - East Killara - Gordon
565 Chatswood - Lindfield - West Lindfield - Macquarie University via UTS

Routes 581 Gordon - Woodlands Ave - Gordon loop and 586 Gordon - Clifford & McIntosh Sts were acquired when Arthur E. Gillot's St Ives Bus Services Pty Ltd was split between Shorelink and Forest Coach Lines on 6 July 1998. 11 vehicles were included in the take over (most of which were sold or transferred to other JAG operations).

After a significant downsize of the Koala Tours fleet and replacement of most ex Jim Knox coaches with other coaches sourced from other JAG companies, the Koala Tours coach business was sold to Murrays Australia Ltd 3/99 with a handful of coaches.

The John A. Gilbert group sold Shorelink to French transport company Transdex on 3 September 2001 to form Transdev NSW Pty Ltd, trading as Shorelink. Refer to the Transdev fleetlist for company history during their ownership.
