Harry Shelton started a taxi service from Dungog to Barrington Guest House in 1938. In 1944 he added a service to Salisbury with a car, which was later replaced by a bus. Services have expanded over the years and the business is currently owned by Harry's son Doug and wife Reta and managed by their son Guy and wife Christy.
The original depot was located at 23 Hooke St, Dungog, where Harry Shelton parked his buses alongside his Chrysler dealership. In 1970 it moved up the road to 73 Hooke St. On Saturday 1 December 2012, Executive Director of BusNSW Darryl Mellish opened Shelton's new purpose-built depot at 76 - 82 Commons Road, Dungog. The facility was designed by Guy Shelton, who is a surveyor drafter by trade. It consists of an office and meeting room, kitchen, shower and toilet for the drivers, a 24m x 22m workshop, wash bay with an automated bus wash, 10 large bus bays and a fuel bay.
