John Jennings commenced business in July 1989 with TV 1206 RFW, operating in conjunction with Dick Crowe's Sydney Coachlines operation. This coach operated in Sydney Coachlines white and three tone green livery and signage. On 13 August 1991, John Jennings registered the business name Jennings Coach Hire, but continued to operate with Sydney Coachlines.
In December 1992, John purchased TV 1771 Austral DC122 to operate in his own right at Jennings Coach Hire. TV 1771 operated coach tours at times for Waratah Travel.
John rebranded the business as Jennings Coach Lines in 1994, registering the business name on 12 August 1994. A second coach was added in 1996 in the form of MO 9008 Austral DC122, followed by a brand new 54-seat Scania in 1998. The Australs were sold around this time.
In February 2000, John added a charter bus to the fleet in the form of MO 9313 Volvo B58 to conduct school transfer work. This was sold in 2006, leaving John as a single coach operator.
John ceased operations by April 2012, selling the Scania coach to Paramount Tours.
