RC (Bob) Kirkpatrick commenced operation in June 1958 with the take over of NK Lakeman-Fidler's Windsor to Maraylya and Riverstone to Maraylya services, operating as Route 216. The fleet in 1960s included a GMC and Reo with Properts bodies, 3 Whites, a Bedford OB and a Leyland Double Decker, garaged in George St, South Windsor. Hawkesbury Valley was later adopted as a trading name and the expanded trading name Hawkesbury Valley Bus & Coach Service appeared when Kirkpatrick diversified into coaches. Kirkpatrick replaced his eclectic fleet with 9 new Bedfords between 1967 and 1973, followed by another batch of Bedfords in the late-1970s.

R & P Clarkson's route and school services from Windsor - Maroota - Wisemans Ferry (Route 218) were added to the company in February 1984. Clarkson's depot at 284 Old Stock Route Rd, Oakville was initially retained by Kirkpatrick and buses continued to be operated in Clarkson's livery of white bus with red skirt. The fleet soon relocated to Kirkpatrick's purpose built depot at 171 Old Stock Route Rd, Oakville. In 1989, vehicles began to be repainted into the Kirkpatrick blue and yellow livery with signwriting for ‘Hawkesbury Valley and Clarksons’.

The Calabro family purchased Hawkesbury Valley Bus & Coach Service from the Kirkpatrick family on 2 November 1990 with 23 buses. After 23 years of operation under the Calabro family's ownership, Hawkesbury Valley Buses ceased operating bus services in Sydney MBSC Region 1 on Saturday October 5th 2013, after which Busways took over operation of all Region 1 services from Hawkesbury Valley & Westbus (CDC) on Sunday October 6th 2013.

Refer to Hawkesbury Valley Buses fleet list as at 5/10/13 for details of the operation under Calabro family ownership.
