The Bungonia school bus service dates back to the closure of Bungonia school in 1963. In that year, Mrs Christina Brideson purchased a Commer bus to transport local children, including her own, into Goulburn schools. The bus route started at her property 'Hillydale' on Inverary Rd, collecting children along Inverary Rd into Bungonia Village, then Bungonia Rd into into Goulburn.
Mrs Brideson sold the service in early-1974 to HC (Harold) Carmichael. New Bedford SB5 / PMC MO 5871 was purchased to work the service. A second service from Goulburn schools to Gundary commenced around this time.
Carmichaels purchased a coach for tour and charter work in January 1976, in the form of MO 9838 Bedford KM / Custom Coaches from Chalmer's Coaches in Sydney. This was followed up with the Carmichael's second new purchase, TV 917 Mercedes-Benz O303-2 / Ansair coach in 1980. Coach tour and charter is still an important part of the current business.
In September 1983, the Goulburn - Gundary school contract was sold to NR (Neil) & CM McDonald, Goulburn.
In 1995, Harold Carmichael sadly passed away. Harold's wife, Marlene, then obtained accreditation to continue the family business.
In 2000, the Goulburn - Bungonia contract was split to create Line of Route N2795 Goulburn schools - Bungonia - Windellama.
In 2001, new Line of Route N2780 from Marulan Public School - Bungonia was won on tender. A Toyota Hi-Ace minibus was purchased to work this contract.
The legendary bus operator, Max Holman, was associated with the business at this time, driving charters and school services.
In March 2004, Carmichael sold the original service - Goulburn - Bungonia contract - again to Neil McDonald, Goulburn.
In April 2005, Carmichael sold the Goulburn - Windellama contract to GJ (Guy) Lewis, Tallong.
Carmichael retains the single school contract N2780 Marulan - Bungoniaand continues to operate charter.
School service renumbered/renamed in conjunction with Transport Connected Bus roll out, which went live in August 2024.
