Alstonville Bus Service can be traced back to Lancaster’s Bus Service. Barry Lancaster had a Shell service station and taxi service, which branched out into school bus services. Ownership of these services passed to P. & J. Edstein 8/83. A partnership then formed between Edstein and Munro. With Edstein wishing to retire, the bus services were split between two owners:- 1) K.A. & S.L. Munro and 2) Burnett Nominees Pty.Ltd. (in 1987). Munro's business (trading as Alstonville Bus Lines) passed to David and Christine Gallagher (Crisdav Pty.Ltd.) in approximately 2004 and most recently to Kevin Vinall (NCJ Investments Pty.Ltd.) in October 2011 (consisting of services N0519 Alstonville - Marom Creek, N0594 Alstonville - Wardell & N0910 Alstonville - Bagotville and vehicles 4633 MO, 4634 MO & 5221 MO).
A second contract to Wardell (known as Wardell Primary) commenced under Vinall's ownership.
Additional trading name Northern Rivers Tours registered 27/7/16.
Services renumbered and renamed in conjunction with Transport Connected Bus Program (TCB) roll out 2/24.
