These vehicles originally operated out of three depots, the Voith equipped vehicles (3253 to 3282) operated from Willoughby and North Sydney depots (with major servicing occuring at Willoubghby) and the ZF equipped vehicles (3283 to 3302) operated out of Randwick depot. However with the introduction of the Metropolitan Bus Contract system in 2005, Willoughby and North Sydney fell within different contract regions so the buses from North Sydney were transferred to Willoughby.
The Willoughby based vehicles were withdrawn as Scania K280 buses were brought into service at that depot. The Randwick vehicles were withdrawn en mass at the completion of the afternoon peak on Friday 10th May 2013 (three remained at Willoughby also and these were also withdrawn at the same time) as part of State Transit's fleet optimisation program.
As with the Mercedes Benz O305 mkIII and especially the mkIV, there was not really a large market available to on sell these vehicles as there was once upon a time, a few were sold - mainly to enthusiasts the rest were scrapped. The Voith equipped vehicles for the most part were sent to scrap, the ZF units had their transmissions removed since the same type are used by later buses in the fleet.
3271 received an Allison B300R transmission during it's service life.

Willoughby 3282 on a service from Wynyard
However, 3282 was then used on morning 422 and 426 runs on the 13th May and a school run on the 14th May out of Tempe depot
