State Transit Authority Disposal Lists

| Notes: | Built to the same design as the Mark 2 Leopards bodied by Pressed Metal Corporation between 1970 and 1972 the only change being a larger demister unit and the use of a darker blue for the seat upholstery and on the saloon side lining panels. They entered service from 3954 to 3999, then 1500 to 1765 - the decision had already been made not to go beyond 3999 and the numbers to 1499 had been reserved for double deck buses, the older rear platform deckers that these buses were replacing were in the mid 2000's number range, so there was no clash. During mid 1973, the PTC's Chullora bus workshops was quiet, the decision was made that 20 new buses should be assembled there, Smithfield Bus and Coach would supply the chassis and the framework, Chullora would assemble and add the panels and fittings - in the end nine buses were assembled in this manner, 1539, 1540, 1572, 1575, 1601, 1619 and 1620. |
