| Notes: | When the Mark 1 Leopard tender proposal documents were submitted, it was noted that there would be a need to order a further 400 buses soon after the initial 232 had been delivered. To that end a tender was let for the supply of what became 400 vehicles, with a mix of single and double deck vehicles. The tender was won by Leyland, so an order for 200 Atlanteans and 200 Leopards was placed and they were to be bodied by Press Metal Corporation (who had been purchased by Leyland in 1968). These were the first buses to be delivered in the Mardarin Blue and Riveria White livery and the first to be delivered with power steering - but the last to feature ratchet hand brakes. In an attempt to differeniate the single and double deck vehicles, the cabs on the Leopards were painted matt blue and the indicators would make a 'clunk' sound. |
