Pitts Bus Service has serviced Lines of Route N0708 Taralga P.S. - Myrtleville and N2461 Taralga P.S. - Wombeyan Caves Rd - Golspie since March or April 1986, when the contracts were acquired from J McCarthy, Taralga. N2461 connects the Crookwell - Myanga Creek school contract at the corner of Golspie Road and Crookwell-Taralga Rd, returning the same route to Taralga.
In 1994, Pitt’s secured Line of Route N1487 Crookwell - Myanga Creek from Howarth’s Bus Service with MO 7902 Bedford BLP2. It was resold promptly to MR Christensen, Rosevale, QLD following the delivery of MO 1808 Hino RG197K. Ten years later a second contract into Crookwell was purchased from Howarth’s in the form of Line of Route N1488 Crookwell - Wheeo - Bevandale with MO 2990 Mercedes-Benz OH1418. This bus was replaced with a new Volvo B7R in 2015.
Sadly Keith Pitt passed away on 17 June 1998. His widow Helen and son Colin then formed a partnership to obtain accreditation 21928 to continue the business. Colin, who had worked in the business for a number of years, later obtained his own accreditation (32523) to establish a coach business with MO 6632 Volvo B7R purchased new on 12 October 2006. This move followed the withdrawal of Howarth’s Bus Service from the charter market.
