Todd family purchases Glenorie Bus Co Pty Ltd:

L, K & A Todd purchased Glenorie Bus Co from Roy Baxter, George N Tucknott & RE (Ray) Fifield on May 15 1975. Included in the take over were three routes:-
60/184 Pennant Hills - Castle Hill - Glenorie (permanently through-routed)
203 Pennant Hills - Berilee

On April 14 1980, Glenorie Bus Co commenced a 3 month trial of a service between Hornsby and Glenorie via Galston Gorge, using 17-seat Mazda minibuses (fleet no. 31-33). 30 minutes running time was allowed for between Hornsby and Glenorie, a journey that coast a fare of $1. School children were not permitted on peak hour services. The service ceased without direct replacement, although extra trips on 60/184 between Pennant Hills and Glenorie commenced from June 28 1982.

Reorganisation of routes into the Sydney Region Route Number System:
On April 21 1986, Glenorie Bus Cos routes were reorganised and renumbered into the Sydney Region Route Number System:-

651 Pennant Hills - Berrilee
652 Pennant Hills - Glenorie
653 Pennant Hills - Glenhaven
654 Pennant Hills - Castle Hill via Highs Rd
655 Pennant Hills - Castle Hill via Castle Hill Rd.
Trips on 651/2/7/8 ran between Pennant Hills & Round Cnr, Dural variously via Castle Hill or New Line Rd. Connections were made between routes at Round Corner, Dural.

Dural Busways Pty Ltd taken over:

On April 1 1988, the following services, operating under Route 51, were taken over from Dural Busways Pty Ltd (Bob McKinnon), Kenthurst:
Round Corner, Dural - Annangrove via Annangrove Rd
Round Corner, Dural - Kenthurst (Pitt Town Rd)
Round Corner, Dural - Kenthurst (Porters Rd)

The Annangrove and Round Corner routes were upgraded from school trips only to limited route services and renumbered into the Sydney Region Route Number System on September 11 1988:-

657 Pennant Hills - Round Corner - Annangrove
658 Pennant Hills - Round Corner - Kenthurst (Pitt Town Rd).

Round Corner - Porters Rd presumably remained as a school only route until upgraded to a limited route service and numbered 640 on 13 June 1995.
From March 9 1989, 5 selected weekday journeys on Route 652 were extended from Pennant Hills to Hornsby. Pick up and set down restrictions were implemented between Pennant Hills and Hornsby to avoid conflict with Hornsby Bus Group's Route 148.

Network Review 1989:

Network review resulted in the following changes commencing December 11 1989:-
- Some Route 651, 652, 653, 657 & 658 trips altered to run to/from Beecroft instead of Pennant Hills.
- Selected Route 653 & 655 trips diverted via David Rd.
- All weekday Route 654 journeys altered to run Beecroft - West Pennant Hills Valley - Castle Hill, with selected journeys extended from Beecroft to Macquarie Centre. Castle Hill end extended to Castlewood Estate instead of Route 655.

Network Review 1995:

Another network review took effect June 13 1995, resulting in the introduction of a new series of route numbers:-
631 Hornsby - Pennant Hills - Castle Hill via Castle Hill Rd (ex 655)
632 Hornsby - Pennant Hills - Castlewood via David Rd (new route following the opening of new roads in Cherrybrook)
633 Hornsby - Pennant Hills - Castle Hill via Coonara Ave (new route following the opening of new roads in West Pennant Hills area)
634 Castle Hill - Castlewood Estate (ex part of 654)
635 Macquarie Centre - Beecroft - West Pennant Hills Valley - Castle Hill (ex part of 654)
636 Pennant Hills - Castle Hill - Glenhaven (service between Pennant Hills & Castle Hill provided by 631/2/3)
637 Pennant Hills - Castle Hill - Glenorie
638 Pennant Hills - Castle Hill - Berrilee
639 Pennant Hills - Castle Hill - Kenthurst (Pitt Town Rd)
640 Pennant Hills - Castle Hill - Kenthurst (Porters Rd) (previously school-only service)
641 Pennant Hills - Castle Hill - Annangrove
Similarly to trips on previous Routes 651/2/7/8, Routes 637/8/9/40/1 ran between Pennant Hills & Round Corner, Dural variously via Castle Hill or New Line Rd. Connections were made between routes at Round Corner, Dural.


Glenorie Bus Co (5) m/o 805 Volvo B10M - Adam Peters.

Todd family sells to National Express 2001:

The Todd family sold Glenorie Bus Co Pty Ltd to the National Express Group on December 18 2001 with 68 buses. Glenorie had placed an order for 10 Volvo B10BLE / Custom Coaches CB60s, the first of which was due in December 2001. A total of ?? were delivered to National Express in Glenorie colours starting in January 2002.

Following the introduction of M2 express bus services to the City from traditional Glenorie Bus Co areas, National Express adopted the Hillsbus trading name in December 2004 for the entire Glenorie Bus Co and Westbus Northmead operations. Buses operating under Glenorie Bus Co Pty Ltd were absorbed into Hillsbus Co Pty Ltd mid-2005.
