Deane's Buslines from Queanbeyan established its South Coast operation in December 2001, when it took over Edward's Bus Service Pty Ltd at Eden on 6 December 2001. The company Deane's Travel Pty Ltd was used to purchase the assets of Edwards Bus Service Pty Ltd, which was was a third generation business established by Richard Edwards in 1924. Edwards Bus Service held a commercial contract operating school and route services on the Bega to Eden corridor via Pambula and Merimbula, out of two depots in Merimbula and Eden. The Canberra to Bombala and Canberra to Eden Countrylink coach contracts were taken over from Edwards, but passed to Transborder Express when new contracts commenced 1 November 2002. For a period of time, the coach side of the South Coast operation was organised through the separate company Soul Quest Travel Pty Ltd, which was purchased by Deane's in 2001.

The South Coast operation consolidated into a purpose built, centrally-located depot in South Pambula in December 2005. Ownership of Deane's Travel Pty Ltd and Soul Quest Travel Pty Ltd passed from Dennis and Susan Deane to their daughter Jamie Klemm and her husband Anton Klemm in 2005.

Queanbeyan-based Deane's Buslines Pty Ltd & Deane's Investments (ACT) Pty Ltd t/a Transborder Express was sold by the Deane family to ComfortDelGro Cabcharge Pty Ltd on Saturday 1 September 2012 and continues to operate under the Deane's Buslines and Transborder Express banners. Deane's Travel Pty Ltd and South Quest Travel Pty Ltd at South Pambula remains owned by the Klemm family. Sapphire Coast Buslines was announced as the new trading name for Deane's Buslines at South Pambula on 18 December 2012. Andrew Constance MP, Member for Bega, Minister for Ageing and Minister for Disability Services, officially launched the new name in front of invited friends and guests on Friday 8 February 2013. A new company South Coast Transit Pty Ltd was registered 27/8/12 (Acc No. 38747) in conjunction with the name change.

After 31 years of operation, the Daly family sold Tathra Bus Service to South Coast Transit Pty Ltd with 9 buses on Wednesday 16 January 2013.

By Term 4 2013, school services N1678 Bega - Coopers Gully Rd - Bemboka & N1679 Bega - Bemboka were acquired from DB & SJ Whyman, Bega by Term 4 2013 with 1138 MO Volvo B7R. Whyman's second bus (1138 MO Mercedes-Benz OH1418) was age expired and sold separately.

On 21 August 2013, school services N0465 Eden - Towamba - Burragate & N1222 Pambula - Millingandi were acquired from PR & EA Pincini Pty Ltd t/a Merimbula Bus Lines, Pambula with Ivecos 1106 MO & 6782 MO.

In October 2023, Sapphire Coast Buslines took over the school services of Scarlett Buses (G & S Truck and Bus Pty Ltd), Bega (8 routes / 9 buses) and Kaidan Downs Pty Ltd (DJ & MA Smith), Candelo (1 route / bus).

On 1 May 2024, took over S383 Bega schools - Tanja - Murrah and S382 Bega schools - Tarraganda - Reedy Swamp from WJ & JK Beresford Family Investments Pty Ltd, Bega with 6781 MO Hino RN8J & 7914 MO Iveco Delta.

On 1 June 2024, took over S548 Wyndham - Rocky Hall and S549 Eden - Nethercote from Eden Buses Pty Ltd, Eden with 2666 MO Toyota Coaster & 8580 MO Scania K310IB.
