Sid Crowther commenced operating buses on the Clifton to Thirroul route before moving to Caringbah. S Crowther, with his brothers Barry and Bruce (later trading as S Crowther & Son), took over routes 65 Cronulla to Caringbah via Burraneer Bay Rd and 66 Cronulla to Burraneer Bay Point from Ryder & Moore in July 1952.

Route 987 Miranda / Cronulla to Kurnell was taken over from Kurnell Passenger Transport (Nicholson's) on 16 May 2000 with three vehicles - Nicholson's Iveco Daily (m/o 7290) and MAN SL200 (m/o 8550) were used by Crowther during the interim take over period.

Eight vehicles and the following routes were sold to Veolia Transport NSW Pty Ltd as of 1/1/09.
984 Cronulla - Miranda via North Cronulla
985 South Cronulla - Miranda via Burraneer Bay Road
987 Kurnell - Miranda via Cronulla and Cronulla Leagues Club
Whilst the official take over date was 1/1/09, Crowther's operated the New Years Day combined service with Caringbah Bus Service.

From 2005, Crowthers Coaches & Australia Wide Coaches undertook day tours for Australian Pacific Touring, including having some coaches painted in APT livery. This ceased after APT entered a license agreement with AAT Kings in July 2012 to provide all APT day touring and short breaks in Melbourne, Sydney and the Northern Territory with their own vehicles.

The depot at 60-62 Gannons Road, Caringbah was vacated in late 2009 and remaining coaches moved to the multi-user facility in Ross Smith Avenue, Mascot.
