Transit (NSW) Liverpool Pty Ltd, trading as Transit Systems, tendered for and secured the Sydney Metropolitan Region 3 contract on 7 November 2012.
Operations commenced 13 October 2013 from the Area 3 Management Company Pty Ltd, comprising of CDC Region 3 Pty Ltd (Westbus) Bonnyrigg and Girraween, Hopkinsons Transport Pty Ltd (Hopkinson's Metrobus), Smithfield, Western Sydney Buses Pty Ltd, Bonnyrigg, Oliveri Transport Services Pty Ltd (Metrolink), Green Valley and Liverpool Transport Co Pty Ltd t/a Busabout (Region 3 operations only).
Buses transferred from those operators were Government contract and growth lease buses which were required to operate under the new contract holder. A deal was also struck with Hopkinson's to operate several B10B / P&D bodied route buses to assist in making up the required fleet. The remaining fleet comprises of second hand vehicles sourced from Brisbane Transport (via auction), Transdev NSW / Parramatta City Council (via auction) and the Dineen Group, Victoria. Numerous new build buses were also sourced.
A deal was also struck with Oliveri's Transport to lease depot space initially within the Hoxton Park depot. Other new depots were sourced by Transit Systems in Moorebank (initial depot) and a purpose built facility in Smithfield. Operations commenced from 29 September 2016 from a further new depot at 2 Airfield Drive
Len Waters Estate, with the Moorebank and previous Oliveri's depots vacated.
